Look Mom! No Hands!

My thumb continues to struggle controlling my wheel chair. In fact, my thumb, more often than not, has been struggling to move at all. Trying to push the control feels like trying to push fifty pounds of weight with my weak and scrawny thumb…just not happening! I knew this would be a loss and I was mentally preparing to take controls with my chin, until I found out there was another option, a better option for me. We were able to transition to the foot control because my right foot still has enough strength. Yay right foot!

My husband and sister, otherwise known as my dream team, were confident enough with my skills to take me out in public today to show off my fancy footwork. It was a bit surreal to be at the pulmonologist office maneuvering around elderly with oxygen tanks and walkers, I felt like a real badass. Video to follow.
